Commonly Asked Questions

Is this LED light designed to fit in standard low voltage fixtures?

Yes, the LED light is specifically crafted to fit in standard low voltage PAR36 fixtures. This ensures compatibility with a wide range of existing setups. Additionally, it offers an extended lamp life, making it a reliable and long-lasting choice for your lighting needs.

Is this LED lamp affected by color shift when lumen output is decreased?

When it comes to LED lights, a common concern is whether they maintain consistent color quality as their brightness level is adjusted. The good news is that modern LED technology has significantly mitigated this issue.

Many high-quality LED lights from reputable brands, such as Brilliance LED, are designed to ensure a stable color temperature, even when the lumen output is reduced. This means that whether the light is at its brightest or dimmed, the color remains uniform. No color shifting.

Here are a few reasons behind this stability:

> Advanced Engineering: Leading manufacturers use sophisticated circuitry and high-quality materials that stabilize color temperature.

> Precision Binning: LEDs are carefully categorized during production to match color temperatures closely, ensuring consistency when dimmed.

> Efficient Heat Management: Proper thermal management designs help maintain color accuracy by keeping the LEDs at optimal operating temperatures.

> In summary, with the technological advancements in the LED industry, color shift is no longer a significant issue when reducing lumen output. Always look for products from trusted brands to ensure the best performance.

What are compatible LED Wattages to replace equivalent halogen bulbs?

Brilliance LED PAR36 lamps are designed to replace various conventional halogen bulbs, providing an energy-efficient alternative. LED lamps can substituted for traditional halogen bulbs in the following wattages:

15-Watt Halogen ≈ 2-3 Watts LED
30-Watt Halogen ≈ 4 Watts LED
40-Watt Halogen ≈ 5-7 Watts LED
50-Watt Halogen ≈ 6-9 Watts LED
60-Watt Halogen ≈ 8-12 Watts LED
75-Watt Halogen ≈ 10-15 Watts LED
100-Watt Halogen ≈ 14-20 Watts LED
150-Watt Halogen ≈ 20-30 Watts LED
200-Watt Halogen ≈ 25-35 Watts LED

This versatility ensures that you can easily upgrade from different standard halogen wattages to LED without sacrificing light quality or brightness. Always check with the manufacturer for further specifics.

What is the IP Rating and what does it mean?

The IP rating of this PAR36 is 68 (If blank, the IP rating is unknown).

IP ratings, or Ingress Protection ratings, are designated using the format "IP" followed by two digits and, in some cases, an additional letter. The designation is defined by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) and provides information about the degree of protection provided by enclosures against solids and liquids. Here's how the rating works:

1. **First Digit (0-6)**: This digit indicates the level of protection against solid objects:
- **0**: No protection
- **1**: Protected against solid objects greater than 50 mm (e.g., hands)
- **2**: Protected against solid objects greater than 12.5 mm (e.g., fingers)
- **3**: Protected against solid objects greater than 2.5 mm (e.g., tools)
- **4**: Protected against solid objects greater than 1 mm (e.g., wires)
- **5**: Dust-protected (limited ingress of dust allowed)
- **6**: Dust-tight (no ingress of dust)

2. **Second Digit (0-9)**: This digit indicates the level of protection against liquids:
- **0**: No protection
- **1**: Protected against vertically falling water droplets
- **2**: Protected against water droplets falling at up to 15 degrees from vertical
- **3**: Protected against water spray from any direction (up to 60 degrees)
- **4**: Protected against water splashed from any direction
- **5**: Protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction
- **6**: Protected against high-pressure water jets
- **7**: Protected against immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes
- **8**: Protected against immersion in water beyond 1 meter
- **9**: Protected against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets

3. **Additional Letter(s)** (Optional): Sometimes, an additional letter may be specified to indicate specific characteristics, such as:
- **F**: Oil-resistant
- **H**: High voltage
- **S**: Special conditions (e.g., limited entry conditions)

**Example**: An IP68 rating means the device is dust-tight (6) and protected against continuous immersion in water beyond 1 meter (8).

IP ratings help consumers and professionals assess the suitability of products for their intended environments, ensuring the right level of protection against dust and moisture.
