For 2nd Generation (Gen 2) boards, the color coding follows the same functional logic as the 1st Gen, but the boards themselves have a distinct appearance because the LED chip is natively warm (2700K) rather than cool white.

Quick Reference: FXL PowerBoard Colors

Black: Standard Zoning (Non-dimmable)

Orange: ZD (Zoning & Dimming)

White: ZDC (Zoning, Dimming, and Color)

Green: Legacy/Discontinued (Very old Gen 1 non-dimmable boards)

How to Spot a 2nd Gen FXL Board

While the circuit board colors (Black/Orange) remained consistent to indicate their features, you can easily distinguish a 2nd Gen from a 1st Gen by these visual cues:

The LED Chips: On a 2nd Gen board, the LED chips look like "integrated" components that glow warm 2700K immediately. On a 1st Gen, you'll see small yellow dots that produce a blueish-white 3900K light.

The Optics: 2nd Gen kits move away from the "reflector and plastic disk" setup. Instead, they typically use clear, interchangeable snap-on lenses (10°, 35°, and 60° options) to control the beam spread.

The Labeling: 2nd Gen part numbers usually start with "KIT" (e.g., KIT1LEDRDW), whereas 1st Gen kits are often labeled as "ULKIT" (e.g., 1LED-ULKIT).
